The purple bearded iris is the Official Flower of Brussels. Every year there is a Festival of the Iris, a, for the most part, kid-friendly series of events that take place up the hillside from the Grand' Place to Royal Square. First, one of the more adult events, an edition of Apéros Urbains; lots of Techno and House and mojitos and such. This in Spain Square being presided over by Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.

In the Albertine Gardens, there was an installation which I decided to call Laundry Piece (rf. Grapefruit by Yoko Ono). Here a couple is adding their twist to the performance/installation.

I am certain that Alexander Calder would have loved to see his sculpture Ear being accessorized this way. The sculpture was originally commissioned for the 1958 World's Fair, then warehoused for a couple decades and then installed here with its pool.
