For centuries a little stream, the Geleytsbeek, was exploited here in southern Brussels. There were eleven mills powered by the stream. Until the XIXth century they were flour mills, then most were converted to paper mills. Now it's a nature preserve and the only remaining mill, the Neckersgat, is being restored. The buildings are from the XVIIth century but a mill stood here for many centuries before. Looking at the little stream it's hard to imagine that it could power that many mills. Did we really need the Industrial Revolution?

Enfin! It's beginning to finally look like Spring.

And outdoors things were hopping as it was not only sunny but not cold (though not seasonally warm).

This urban château is still privately owned so this is the extent of what I could see but the gardens spill down the hill for quite a few acres and include a large pond.
